O-Town MacDown, Mac-and-cheese Competition, to Benefit Give Kids The World

Give Kids The World Village’s second annual O-Town MacDown is set for Saturday, September 12, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Osceola Heritage Park.

The event features talented chefs and caterers from around Orlando, each looking to whip up the best mac-n-cheese dish in Central Florida. Chefs from such well known restaurants as Hard Rock Café, Smokey Bones and Disney’s Port Orleans will compete. The presenting sponsor is Tom+Chee.

Actor Kevin Bacon Launches the Ice Cream Challenge (#GKTWChallenge)

Actor Kevin Bacon today visited Give Kids The World Village, a nonprofit resort for children with life-threatening illnesses, to launch the organization’s Ice Cream Challenge (#GKTWChallenge).

Bacon squared off against one of the resort’s young guests to see who could eat the most ice cream in six seconds. The loser had to donate $6 to Give Kids The World Village, a 74-acre resort where children with serious illnesses and their families are treated to dream vacations at no cost.

Gather the family and come sample some amazing mac-and-cheese while determining the MacDown Champions of Central Florida, all to benefit kids with life-threatening illnesses. Getting “Fired Up For GKTW” Village

Those who know the Loewen family have heard about the amazing tale that took them on a journey from Winnipeg, Canada to Kissimmee, Florida. These familiar faces work as volunteers, ambassadors and even CPR instructors! What you may not know is that Brad Loewen and his business colleagues are embarking upon an ambitious campaign in 2015, much of it to benefit Give Kids The World Village.

Central Moving & Storage Deliver Sweet Snacks to Give Kids The World Village

It was such a sweet Tuesday in the Village on May 26, 2015, when three truckloads of candy and snacks arrived in semi-trailers supplied by Central Moving & Storage. The goodies were donated by the members of the National Confectioners Association after they completed their “Sweets & Snacks Expo” in Chicago, an annual event held at the city’s McCormick Place.

Papa John Delivers Pizza and Hosts Party at Give Kids The World Village

Papa John himself visited Give Kids The World Village to treat wish children and their families to a day of fun, smiles and, of course, delicious Papa John’s Pizza. 

In town to host a convention of his corporate and franchise executives, Papa John personally delivered pizzas to several wish families in his signature 1972 Camaro Z-28 before hosting a pizza party at the Village’s Park of Dreams pool.

Give Kids The World Village’s Black & White Gala Highlights Orlando Social Calendar

Give Kids The World Village’s (GKTW) annual Black & White Gala will feature gourmet food, world-class entertainment and best of all, the chance for attendees to help children with life-threatening illnesses.

Scheduled for Saturday, May 9 at the Hyatt Regency Orlando, the event has become one of Central Florida’s most popular social events on the calendar, directly helping make more than 7,400 wishes come true every year.

Towne Hall Nearing Completion at Give Kids The World Village

The construction of a 53,000 square foot building set adjacent to a Gingerbread House, an Enchanted Carousel and a Castle of Miracles is nearly complete at Give Kids The World Village. The new "Towne Hall" will house evening entertainment events, a food court, meeting facilities, a gathering hall and staff offices.

Give Kids The World Village Celebrates Founder's Day in Honor of Founder

Give Kids The World Village celebrated its birth and that of its founder, Henri Landwirth, on March 7 in a beautiful ceremony at the 70-acre property with staff, volunteers and guests in attendance.
